Curled slabs are a common occurrence in concrete floors. "Curling"
is described as a raising of the slab at a control joint.
As the edges of the joint lift upward, the slab is actually
pulled up off of the subsurface creating a void. As heavy
traffic (forklifts/vehicles) cross the raised edge of the
joint, the curled slabs will flex, eventually causing the
slab to break.
Barton
Southern uses rigid foam grouts to reestablish contact between
the substrate and the curled slab. Once the slab is stabilized,
a new joint can be cut and sealed. Our grouting technology
is unique in that the work can usually be performed while
the facility is in operation with little interference. Quick
setting materials allow repaired floors to be returned to
service within minutes of treatment.
