Barton Southern Company was recently called in to make repairs at a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) that was under construction in the southeastern United States. The WTP had numerous problems including failed waterstops, severe honeycombing, and numerous shrinkage cracks. Barton Southern crews arrived on site and used their years of experience to quickly identify the problems. Using hydrophilic water reactive polyurethane injection resin, leaks from cracks and honeycombs were permanently sealed. The specially designed water-reactive hydrophilic grouts that were injected into the structure met the requirements of ANSI/NSF 61, making them safe for use with potable water.
